Det-Tronics (Detector Electronics Corporation) has over 40 years of experience in flame and gas detection plus fire alarm and gas detection systems. Their legacy is one of protecting high hazard applications ranging from offshore oil platforms, to the B-2 bomber, to thousands of miles of gas pipelines, to token booths in New York City's subway system.

Detector Electronics' headquarters is located in Minneapolis, MN, USA. At this 80,000 sq.ft. facility, they manufacture UV and IR sensors for flame detectors, catalytic gas sensors used in combustible gas detectors and electronic PC board and detector/controller assemblies. They also maintain a 4,000 sq.ft. off-site fire and gas test facility that is one of the best in the world. Det-Tronics has 260 dedicated employees, 74 worldwide representative sales offices and 16 worldwide sales offices.

Detector Electronics is unique in the manufacturing of both flame and gas sensors in-house, thereby controlling specifications to exacting requirements. Their optical flame detectors incorporate the latest technologies in UV, IR, UV/IR, Dual IR, Multispectrum IR (MIR) and fiber optics. In the gas detection line, they employ technologies for catalytic, electrochemical, thin-film semiconductor, and IR absorption. Their flame and gas systems range from conventional to state-of-the-art, highly fault tolerant and configurable detection and releasing systems. Det-Tronics maintains one of the most sophisticated fire and gas testing facilities in the world, which enables them to fully test and evaluate products. At the testing facilities, computerized data access systems log dozens of events at hundreds of times per second in order to gather the data needed to develop the best and safest detector possible. Meanwhile, as a normal course of developing a flame detector, countless tests encompassing a full range of fuel types, fire sizes and false alarm sources are performed. Combustible gas detectors undergo similar testing against possible triggering sources, including attempts at tricking the product into false alarms.
